No more hassles for rushing travelers in the San Francisco International Airport: Here comes wireless!

Wi-Fi connection became a booming fad ever since it became available for users. Why so? This is because not only can the connection offer network connectivity but it can also give the user hands free access to the network. Talk about not worrying about the wires anymore! Practical and handy!

However, Wi-Fi has only had limited areas to be available, mostly in coffee shops or in malls. Areas with most people in it. But then again, how about it if you’re travelling, just like in an airport? Not everyone has the leisure to set up their own wireless connections while they are on travel. Most people in airports are rushing and hurrying to finish their tasks on time. You know that you still need the connection at the precise moment but you’re not in an area wherein a hotspot is located. Now this is a lot of a trouble.

This is what the San Francisco International Airport has considered and is now going to provide travelers who pass through the airport to be able to access the internet for free via wireless connection. Approval on Tuesday will decide whether traveler’s smartphones and laptops can soon be receiving free wireless connections within the airport vicinity.

With this set up, travelers, are able to access the internet through the T-Mobile hotspot. This move, yet to be endorsed by the San Francisco City Purchaser will take San Francisco along with its Bay Area Competitors (Which are the San Jose and Oakland airports who are already offering free internet to travelers). Wi-Fi advertising or sponsorship is the proposed solution to offset costs of providing this free service.

One of the most exciting places to be in would be in the wireless networking niche. Not only are there countless innovations all year round, but you are also getting the largest dose of healthy and constant competition from rival companies. Creativity and untainted strategy surround the environment, with only a single goal: To bring out the best wireless connection service to users like you out there!

Cellular Sales, a perk in the niche, is the nation’s largest retailer of Verizon Wireless. The company now has one of the most amazing devices to hit the wireless market in, what can you say, years! The device is popularly called as the Verizon Wireless Intelligent Mobile Hotspot.  It is “one of the year’s most innovative 3G devices” according to Laptop Magazine. They also added that it “must-have for any road warrior”.

Why so? Mainly because the MiFi2200 has a profile size of just like that of a credit card it is able to connect multiple users simultaneously and can connect up to 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices such as notebooks, netbooks, mp3 players, smartphones, cameras, PDA’s  portable gaming systems and a whole lot more! The list could go on.

This is very much ideal for small groups who travel together, those who does not only need the internet connection to their individual selves, but also to their colleagues as well. The MiFi2200 is ideal for those who need Wi-Fi access since they are far away from traditional hotspots, and also to those who would want to give high-speed online access to multiple Wi-Fi enabled devices at a single time.

Vodafones to invade the wireless connection as well!

It seems like only some specific phones just like smartphones, are able to fully access the internet. Not only can these phones access the internet, they could also receive special services by both their online and mobile networks. However, you shouldn’t have to worry anymore, since the mobile network technology is quickly extending its reach and has now come to Vodafones in the guise of the new MiFi 2352.

The MiFi 2352 is also known as an intelligent Mobile Hotspot for European HSPA Networks which can pick up 3G connections when you are using your Vodafone. Sweet isn’t it? Say goodbye to days of wandering around probable hotspots and lurking around for Wi-Fi connection. Now you wouldn’t have to go head over heels after certain types of phones, when you already have one which you could use to have decent internet connection.

The MiFi 2352 is another option which you can definitely go with whenever you are looking for a 3G connection.  Now what exactly is a MiFi 2352, you may ask. The MiFi 2352 is just a small device, handy enough to be carried around. If you’re curious, it weighs a hardly 100 grams! It is built to be light, for you to be able to carry it around without any trouble.

This little devil works just like a Wi-Fi router as well as a 3G modem through by accessing the internet through mobile networks with the use of a computer or any online network-able device which has an internet connection. Just so you see, it works exactly like a smartphone.

Wi-Fi hotspots: the answer to Internet services overpowering mobile services

The world used to have cellular phones to be able to connect with other people using the macro network. Then it also has the internet which has evolved to using the easily accessible Wi-Fi network. Now, the world has both in one single form- popularly known as Smartphones.

However, Smartphones are only able to offload internet-based services when using Wi-Fi. This makes online services like Skype and YouTube receiving more bars of coverage than the operator’s own revenue-based voice, data and video services. The situation results to the former overpowering the latter regarding coverage area. In addition to this, cellular phones additional battery-drain concerns since they are using up multiple services in an instantaneous manner.

The problem comes off as simple as this: subscribers feel discouraged to use Wi-Fi along with the lingering unresolved operator capacity and coverage problems.

That is why Kineto Wireless has developed a "Wi-Fi Offload" platform, which enables operators to run mobile services using Wi-Fi, given that the subscriber is within a suitable hotspot range. According to Kineto, the platform can deliver mobile services over Wi-Fi instead of the macro network, brushing off the battery-drain concern. Bottom point this also frees the spectrum for outdoor users.
