MiFi Demonstration – The portable wireless hotspot
A demonstration of the Verizon MiFi - the portable wireless hotspot that uses the cellular network to create a WiFi bubble around the unit for up to 5 devices to share Internet access simultaneously. This handy little device is manufactured by Novatel and currently offered by Verizon and Sprint. MiFi is a great way to bring broadband with you on the move and share broadband with several devices. The device is either battery powered (about 4 hours of use), powered by a USB connection or the ...

why no one have commented in a month on here?
if your contract is from your old card and you switch it to mifi card you dont have the 5gb cap you stay unlimited
so my ipod touch can have wifi
EVERYWERE
NO DEAD ZONES
You let the video buffer alot more when you paused recording, then played it.
How about how the device operates in cars.
Does it turn on automatically when the car is turned on and does it turn off automatically when the car is turned off?
Can the 30 minute sleep timeer be disabled ?
The nice video but mifi is a wireless device that picks up 3g speed and is paid for monthly I already have an air card which is attach to my pc and I have established VPN on it (virtual private network ) it’s like mifi just not as small
I definitely wouldn’t replace a home broadband connection with this. Its only about 2 mbps since its just using Verizons 3G network, and they cap your data usage at 5gb per month for 80 dollars.
Definitely not ideal to replace your home broadband.
whats the speed on that thing? it could replace my home broadband if its $60, since I’m always on the go and save my bundles. I could also get rid of my cellphone and use a wifi skype phone with this. GENIUS!!
I saw on Verizon’s site the plan is 5gb monthly allowance for 59.99 that adds up pretty quick don’t you think? In my case i would be using the Ipod touch. I’m not sure if apps such as Facebook and twitter would only use a couple KBs or a few MBs say i become an evil manicle facebook posting twitterer those GBs are gonna rack up quickly. overage fee would be pretty large. Damn money grubbing bastards!
ahh, ok, thank you
Yup – you can change the standard settings that you would expect to change in a wireless router – SSID, encryption, etc.
can you run a kilobytes speedtest on that, please?
go to speedtest, net and change the settings to show you kiloBYTES and not bits or anything
please?!
can you go change the settings of it, like the name of the wifi signal, or see the signal to the towers range, like using the local IP thing (such as 192,168,1,1 or something)
Thank you very much for this video! We’re in the process of upgrading, including minilaptops. This really helped with out decision process. Thanks again!
Depends, but it seems to be less than the average WiFi router. 50-75ft.
HOW MUCH RANGE DOES IT HAVE?
HOw much range does it have? And I think they should try to up the battery life. 4 hours seems a little short to me.
You can purchase at a Verizon store on online. Price depends on the length of the contract that you sign – about $150 with a 2 year agreement.
you can just buy this in any verizon store right? and how much is it?
