Palm’s Pre and Pixi: The “new look” inside out!

When everyone thought Palm had given its best shot, the company introduced the Palm pre and pixi phones! These surprised and amazed the users who did not expect such a pivotal action from Palm. Now, Palm has yet again astounded its users with a more stylish and updated version of Palm pre and pixi.

Just when the users thought they haven’t have had enough of the palm pre and pixi, here comes another wave hurling at them! This includes a more stylish look and more functional services which will surely surpass those offered by earlier versions.

For a closer description of the changes, both phones still have that sleek design which users appreciate. The easy to use and attractive WebOS software which Palm’s phones offer have also been given new features which will excite the users more. This is the mobile Wi-Fi hotspot feature. This enables the phone to connect t the internet via Verizon wireless. Of course Verizon has already given its charges and has cooperated with Palm regarding this matter.

The Wi-Fi capability can connect up to five Wi-Fi able devices. Users may feel a bit uncomfortable by the pricing, but the strong connection will still serve them well. Much better coverage than the slow connection other mobile hot spots offer.

When taking a closer look at it the Pre has the greater benefit with the changes. There is the sudden absence of the white button used for expanding open applications or viewing the applications just like what you can do in your computer. Then again, it is replaced by a glowing, touch-sensitive white dash, which makes it safer and uninterrupted while you are using the mobile.

Pre’s keyboard is smoother as compared to the sticky former version. This makes it easier for viewers to type instant message and emails on the keypads. What’s cool is that both phones are able to download from Palm Application’s catalog. This probably is the strongest asset of Palm’s Pre and Pixi as compared to their competitors.

MiFi: changing lives of users in internet connectivity

As internet connections emerged, a lot of users were given the opportunity to conduct tasks and businesses online. Connectivity in the internet meant faster transactions and useful endeavors such as information searching or even downloading files which can be important to some organizations which need them instantly. This has become a great leap in human technology.

After saying goodbye (in the more contemporary sense) to wired connections, users fully embraced wireless connections as they were first introduced. Then there came hotspots. These are places wherein the Wi-Fi connection is strongest enabling users to connect to the internet without plugging into a modem.

Internet connection then invaded mobile phones. Now here’s where MiFi’s enter the scene. If you’re wondering what a MiFi is, fundamentally it is a wireless device which has a SIM inside. This can be connected to a laptop with the use of a USB, or even via Wi-Fi connection. Whichever way users choose to use, MiFi gets the signal on 3’s network, and viola! Users instantly get their personal dose of internet connection!

This type of wireless connection made life much easier and handy to users, especially to those who travel a lot and still need to be connected. If the user makes a wired connection to a laptop, they can use the microSD card reader and self-installing software, which can give texting capability. The great thing about MiFi, is that you can also use it with Wi-Fi enabled devices like the iPod Touch, which is being promoted by 3 in its website.

No more hassles for rushing travelers in the San Francisco International Airport: Here comes wireless!

Wi-Fi connection became a booming fad ever since it became available for users. Why so? This is because not only can the connection offer network connectivity but it can also give the user hands free access to the network. Talk about not worrying about the wires anymore! Practical and handy!

However, Wi-Fi has only had limited areas to be available, mostly in coffee shops or in malls. Areas with most people in it. But then again, how about it if you’re travelling, just like in an airport? Not everyone has the leisure to set up their own wireless connections while they are on travel. Most people in airports are rushing and hurrying to finish their tasks on time. You know that you still need the connection at the precise moment but you’re not in an area wherein a hotspot is located. Now this is a lot of a trouble.

This is what the San Francisco International Airport has considered and is now going to provide travelers who pass through the airport to be able to access the internet for free via wireless connection. Approval on Tuesday will decide whether traveler’s smartphones and laptops can soon be receiving free wireless connections within the airport vicinity.

With this set up, travelers, are able to access the internet through the T-Mobile hotspot. This move, yet to be endorsed by the San Francisco City Purchaser will take San Francisco along with its Bay Area Competitors (Which are the San Jose and Oakland airports who are already offering free internet to travelers). Wi-Fi advertising or sponsorship is the proposed solution to offset costs of providing this free service.

Battery-shortage problem for your laptop or netbooks? Here’s the HP Mini 1100 Battery to the rescue!

Laptops have been known to be portable versions of a desktop computer. It is designed to be smaller, handier to carry around, in order for users to do their work without the hassle of doing it on a heavy and electricity based desktop computer. Another thing why laptops have become popular is because they are battery-powered.

Since this has become a fad, companies thought of new ways to go with the demands of the users when it comes to battery life of the laptop or netbook (which has also become undeniably popular nowadays). However, this is how it goes today; HP has formulated a solution for this growing concern.

This solution is in form of the HP Mini 1100 Battery. So what is it exactly? This is actually an update of HP 2133 Mini-Note PC, which was launched in April. Digging in deeper into this, HP has replaced the 1.2-GHz VIA C7-M ULV Mini-Note with a 1.6-GHz Intel Atom N270 chip. Along with that the company has also lowered the starting price of $ 100 to $ 399. The new system is going to be available starting Wednesday, so you won’t have to wait long.

According to HP they have been studying the fundamental laws of nature and physics, to which the company is trying to apply in terms of engineering development of better laptop batteries with improved performance. Prices range from £ 609 for the TravelMate 8571, £ 599 for 8471, and £ 579 for 8371, all which comes with 3 GB of memory and a 250GB hard drive. In the near future, 3G wireless availability is also an option for the near future.
