The new Novatel MiFi mobile hotspot - Much hype has been touted for this latest piece of wireless internet technology, which allows one to take their broadband connection anywhere through a small, sleek device. It’s christened as an “Intelligent Mobile Hotspot,” and tech-heads are already drooling over what this piece of technology could offer.

However, many people have voiced their concerns on whether this device can actually live up to the hype. Past devices have failed to make a splash where it matters most – in download and upload speeds. Seriously, being portable and cool-looking is nice, but the functionality has to be there. That’s the whole point of developing new technology – it’s not for aesthetic purposes. When others have promised connections to rival stable WiFi connections, they barely make it to that speed, and only do so in the most optimal of conditions.

Novatel MiFi promised that with this device, one can reach up to connections of 3G speed. Now, that’s a big promise to make, especially considering that only the most advanced technologies are able to reach this speed at present. Most deemed this promise as hard to fulfill, considering that the device is portable.

However, Novatel MiFi has come through with their promise. Actually, not only that – they have exceeded expectations and have even broken new grounds in internet speed.

It’s really surprising that a device as small as a credit card can actually allow 3G speed of internet connection. However, even while moving and traveling, Novatel MiFi delivers its promises. With download/upload speeds going as fast as 2.6 Mbps, you’ll have all the speed you want with this device. That’s the fastest internet speed ever reached with a US connection, shattering the previous maximum speeds of 1.7 Mbps. Downloading that show you missed last week or uploading the pictures you took a few minutes ago would finish almost instantaneously with Novatel MiFi. This not only saves you time, but it also frees you up for more personal and professional opportunities.

And because practically any device with WiFi capabilities can hook up to the MiFi Mobile Hotspot, this makes it even more powerful. iPhones, mobile phones, laptops, multimedia players, gaming devices – they all can take advantage of these very high speeds, resulting in new experiences and new possibilities for all of these devices. With this new speed, developers are also given the green light to create applications for devices which normally aren’t exposed to such high speeds. Novatel MiFi makes it accessible to all devices, so applicationsa re sure to get even more efficient and more powerful in the near future.

What does this mean for future broadband connections? It means that the envelope is pushed even further. To top the maximum speed, with a portable device at that, just goes to show that almost anything is possible with the level of technology available to us right now. Given a few years, it’s not difficult to see how this new maximum speed would still be standing. It would probably have already been shattered, maybe even more than once. However, for now, enjoy the new MiFi Mobile Hotspot.
